Master Sergeant Amos J. Spurgeon was born in Santa Rosa, CA, however, is a resident of Texas. He enlisted in the Army in 1999 as a 63B-Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. Master Sergeant Spurgeon graduated Basic Training at Ft Benning, GA. in August of 1999, and graduated from Advanced Individual Training at Ft Jackson, SC. In December 1999. In the years since MSG Spurgeon has served as a Military Policeman and ultimately became an Air Defender as a 14E in late 2005.

Master Sergeant Spurgeon’s assignments include: Military Science Instructor at Niagara University ROTC, Battery First Sergeant Alpha Battery 1-43 ADA, Air Defense Master Evaluator HHB 1-43 ADA, Battalion Master Gunner HHB 1-43 ADA, Fire Control Platoon Sergeant Bravo Battery 1-43 ADA, FDS NCOIC HHB 2-1 ADA, Fire Control Platoon Sergeant Delta Battery 1-1 ADA, Engagement Controller Team Leader Delta Battery 1-1 ADA, Senior Engagement Controller Delta Battery 2-43 ADA, Support Team Crew Chief Delta Battery 2-43 ADA, Engagement Controller Alpha Battery 1-7 ADA, Personal Security Member 615th Military Police Company, Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Bravo Company 212th Signal Battalion 39th Infantry (Arkansas National Guard). Master Sergeant Spurgeon has served in Germany(x2), Korea(x2), Japan(x2), Fort Bliss(x2), and has deployed to Iraq(OIF 1), Kosovo(KFOR), Macedonia(KFOR), Kuwait, Qatar(x2) and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Master Sergeant Spurgeon currently has 100 college credits and is an actively enrolled at Western Kentucky University. He takes a minimum of one class through Western Kentucky University per term in pursuit of a Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership. He also currently has a certificate in Organizational Leadership from Western Kentucky University. Master Sergeant Spurgeon has no family or children. MSG Spurgeon has two dogs and three motorcycles.
