Lt. Col. Adam Czekanski Promoted

Lt. Col. Adam Czekanski, professor of military science at Niagara University, was promoted to the rank of colonel on Sept. 11, 2020. The unprecedented events of 2020 and the ever-changing environment did not stop a small, socially distanced gathering on campus to celebrate the promotion. Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Dave Conboy, a Grand Island native, was in attendance and delivered the Oath of Office to Col. Czekanski after the pinning ceremony.

“Adam Czekanski is a consummate professional with attributes our nation demands of those who serve in our military, and is the exact type of leader that our soldiers, civilians, and ROTC students deserve,” Maj. Gen. Conboy said.

Promotions in the military highlight past performance, but place a greater emphasis on the potential to serve with distinction at higher levels of responsibility.  Col. Czekanski has demonstrated that he is grateful for the opportunity and ready for the challenge.

“I have always felt that strong sense of purpose in what I was doing. It continues today with the honor of being able to develop the next generation of leaders for our Army,” said Col. Czekanski. The Silver Creek, N.Y., native is an engineer officer in the United States Army and has more than 22 years of federal active service.
